Some places just vibe with you, and for me, one of those places is Serenbe. A stone’s throw outside of Atlanta, Georgia, it’s this perfect blend of nature, beautiful home design (like: major owning a second home goals), farm-to-table dining, and total peace & quiet—the kind of place that makes you exhale the moment you arrive. The minute I drive past this sign on the way in is when that happens, as a matter of fact!

Why I’m Serenbe-Obsessed

Serenbe first landed on my radar in 2016, back at the start of my health and wellness era (still going strong— it’s a forever thing 🦋). Back then, this meant clean eating, intentional experiences, & knowing where my food was coming from. I had heard that they had a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program and immediately signed up. At the time, I was living in Atlanta, and they had delivery nearby. But eventually, I started making the trip out on Saturdays to pick up my fruits and veg. That’s when a curiosity became a full-blown long-term commitment 😜.

Serenbe feels like a world away from city life, but without having to go far. It’s a community built around sustainability and wellness – and you can feel it in every little detail: the slow mornings, the charming hamlets (aka neighborhoods), and the way everything seems designed to create spaciousness and help you breathe again. It strikes the perfect balance between down-to-earth and luxurious—which is my fave. I love places that make you feel good and look good—and Serenbe nails that. I’m a sucker for places that are as beautiful as they are grounding —and as someone who thrives in intentionally designed spaces like that, I felt completely at home.

I’ve been back more times than I can count. What started as a weekly produce ritual turned into a dream manifested: during the pandemic, I rented a place and lived there for a month, soaking up the slower lifestyle.

Why I Went This Time: A Creative Reset

It all started with an inner nudge: Just check the website. Wow – apartment available? How can I make this happen? It turned into a full-on yes. Intuition for the win.

I was in the middle of one of my first coaching programs with a small cohort (as an attendee) and exploring what it might feel like to follow my true north + desires, after unblocking a lot of my creativity at the time through the Artist’s Way.

This trip to Serenbe marked a transition moment. I was moving out of Atlanta and felt the urge to pause before jumping into my next chapter.

I didn’t want to rush forward. I wanted to land, reflect, and fully be with what I was letting go of—and who I was becoming in the process. I wanted to tap into what it felt like to live in a place that was so expansive to me.

So I took myself on what I now call a Creative Reset. It wasn’t a workcation. It was a conscious pause. A reset for my nervous system, my inspiration, and my creative direction (in life & in work).

A Day in the Life at Serenbe

Working full-time remotely meant most days still had calls and laptop time—but the morning & evening rituals + the in-between moments? That’s where the magic was.

Picture it like this: Time of the year – November. Mid-afternoon walks through the woods. Golden hour moments. Watching the sun set behind tall trees. Laying in the hammock quietly, no agenda. It was nothing dramatic. Just deeply needed.

The city is close enough to Serenbe that you could commute. But my vote? Don’t. Let yourself drop in and stay.

Here’s what surprised me most: how long it took to slow down. You imagine a place like this will instantly melt your stress—but my nervous system actually struggled a lot of the time. The pace was so different from city life that it felt… weird. And then, it didn’t. I’d be so curious to do this again as an experiment to see how many of the nervous system tools I have grown to know now would be supportive for settling into a month in that way.

Environment is one of my big things to foster your creativity and what I will say is that for me, this is a definite place that naturally sparks creativity—just by the way it’s designed to slow you down and tune you in. Even if you don’t see the creativity right in the moment you’re there, you are setting yourself up for receiving more of it.

The Food: A Farm-to-Table Dream

The food here is so good. And so simple. It’s the kind of place that somehow always had exactly what I needed (and sometimes didn’t even know I needed!).

My go-to spots:

Halsa: Healthy but delicious. Like True Food Kitchen vibes, but better.

The General Store: Thoughtfully curated shelves, fresh sandwiches, and local ATL faves.

Bamboo Juices: From farmer’s market roots to storefront glow-up. Obsessed (espech with the seasonal flavors like Peppermint Mocha or Watermelon Basil Mint). Love a small business success story. 🥲

Blue Eyed Daisy: Quick, casual mornings, to-go options, & cozy friend hangs.

The Aesthetic: Magazine-Worthy Everything

Yes, Serenbe is totally Pinterest-worthy. But that’s not why you go. It’s just the (very beautiful) bonus.

Every home feels like an Architectural Digest magazine spread—modern but cozy. And I want to visit every single one of them, lol. Which by the way! They totally do have a tour as part of Atlanta Design Festival if that’s your thing! Big porches with those amazing swings you want to take a nap in, warm lighting, & home inspo for days. Honestly, the inns and cottages feel like something out of a movie most days. It feels like one of those places where if someone says hey, we need this for our community, then it’ll be built. That’s the vibe I get.

A Month of Slow Living

I’ve tried to fully lean into my moss babe era a few times—embracing nature, slowing down, unplugging. Serenbe was probably the closest I’ve ever come to feeling one with the outdoors… without fully surrendering my creature comforts.

Let’s be real: this was my kind of glamping. Peaceful walks through the woods, yes. But also gorgeous interiors, cozy lighting, and a very chic general store down the road. Nature, but curated. Intentional. Beautiful.

It felt like my own folklore moment—soft, wild (in a rebellious kind of way — when you get to play in the woods for a month and aren’t committed to an apartment lease), and just enchanted enough.

Who Would Love Serenbe?

That depends on why you’re going.

Want a solo retreat with creative energy and quiet mornings? Go.
Need a romantic escape into fresh air and good food? Go.

Craving a soft place to land between life chapters? Go.
Want to live out your farm-core dreams while still drinking cold-pressed juice? Go.

Serenbe is my reset button. One of my happy places. A reminder to slow down and feel the fullness of life.

Serenbe Was My Creative Reset in Real Life

(But you don’t have to leave your life to take one.)

You can’t always just drop everything and rent a place elsewhere for a month. But everyone deserves the feeling Serenbe gave me: space, breath, beauty, and stillness.

So if you’re craving a shift, but you’re still in the middle of life and logistics, I made something for you:

The Creative Reset 7-Day Challenge – an email-based free reset for those moments when you can’t get away physically, but still need a shift. For the days when your soul needs your own unique type of Serenbe energy…from wherever you are.

One of the days in the challenge invites you to sign up for & try something new—an example of that for me in real time during my stay looked like aerial yoga. Let’s just say… humbling. Hanging upside down is no joke.

Looking back, I think that month quietly taught me a few things:

– You are more capable than you know to plan and execute an impromptu idea.
– That rest can feel unfamiliar before it feels nourishing.
– That aesthetics and beauty really do affect my mood, my mind, my ideas.
– That you don’t need to go far to find a reset—you just need space.
– And that being alone with your thoughts isn’t always comfortable, but it’s almost always clarifying.

Maybe you’ve been craving a reset too—and maybe, it’s more available & closer than you think.

Thinking of Going to Serenbe?

Whether you’re in Atlanta or across the country, Serenbe is 100% worth the trip.

Flying in? It’s only about 25 minutes from Atlanta’s airport (ATL)

Driving? If you’re anywhere in the Southeast—think Chattanooga, Nashville, Charlotte, Birmingham—it’s a weekend drive away.

Staying overnight?
You’ve got a few options:

  • The Inn at Serenbe – a cozy, elevated bed-and-breakfast vibe with beautiful rooms and access to the pool, trails, and grounds. (I’ve never personally stayed here!)
  • Vacation Rentals – homes and cottages are sometimes available to rent short-term (if you’re lucky!), giving you the full “I live here now” experience.

Here’s the link to the Inn and rental listings if you’re ready to start dreaming. Check those sites early if you’re planning a trip!

And if you’re feeling the pull for a deeper reset—one with support, reflection, and a creative mirror—I offer a few 1:1 coaching spaces each season for those navigating big shifts. Apply here.

Together, we slow things down, explore where you are, and tune into what’s next—and begin creating the blueprint to get you there.

And now, tell me in the comments! Where is your “Serenbe?”
